March 8: AN END TO SEXUAL VIOLENCE




March 8: EVEN CAMPAIGN IN ITALY AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL OF THE GOVERNMENT OF NICARAGUA TO SEEK TO PUT AN END TO SEXUAL ASSAULT. OVER 14,000 RAPES IN 10 YEARS - On the occasion of 8 March, International Women's Day, the Italian section of Amnesty International in Italy promoting the organization's global campaign for human rights to demand the government of Nicaragua to end sexual violence , rampant in the country. Between 1998 and 2008, 14,337 women and girls are reported to have suffered sexual violence.
In some cases, the alleged offenders are released on bail without any adequate controls or supervision, with enormous risks of retaliation and revenge on women who have suffered sexual violence. Young survived the rapes or sexual abuse receive little, if any, support from the government to overcome the trauma and rebuild their lives. The more 'luck finding counseling or legal advice in separate buildings, but this' is not enough to guarantee aid to all those who have need. In 2008, moreover, 'came into force a law that criminalizes abortion in all its forms and in all circumstances. This means that girls who become pregnant after a rape are left with no possibility 'of choice.
